DESCRIPTION:(THIS TRIP HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO UNSAFE HIGH WATER LEVELS.) \n  \nThis is generally a beginner friendly 9 mile trip that is lined with cottonwoods hosting numerous birds and other wildlife… a nice way to begin the paddling season. There is one mandatory portage at a dam and one boat chute drop early on that may be run or portaged depending on conditions. DESCRIPTION:THIS TRIP IS CURRENTLY FULL AND A WAITING LIST HAS BEEN CREATED \n The Buffalo National River flows freely for 135 miles\, one of the few remaining undammed rivers in the lower 48 states. It is located in northern Arkansas carving through bluffs of eroded sandstone\, limestone and dolomite that tower over 400 feet in some places. It is rich in diverse animal and aquatic life\, and  boasts numerous cultural sites. This is a class II\, 6-day canoe camping trip that will cover approximately 100 miles. SUMMARY:Escalante River Packrafting Trip
DESCRIPTION:This is a spectacular desert river through the heart of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Glen Canyon Recreational area. It is rated by some as the “best packraft trip in North America”. There are spectacular side hikes to places like the “Golden Cathedral” in Neon Canyon and the Ringtail slot canyon. Steven’s Arch and Coyote Gulch are at the lower end\, with 1\,000 ft. vertical cliffs. This river’s beauty is on a scale of the Grand Canyon or Yampa River but much more intimate\, and MUCH less crowded. This is a rigorous 8 day/7 night trip that includes backpacking 3 miles with a packraft to the river\, a 40 mile float trip with side hikes\, and a 5 mile hike out. \nRiver rating: Class II due to possible strainers and at least one mandatory portage. \nFor further information or to sign up\, contact Lynn Carpenter at lynnecarpenter@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:Cancelled due to lack of sign-ups \nRMCC  is organizing a canoeing class this spring on April 3 (and perhaps April 17) during the Meyers Pool sessions.  The classes will be taught by RMCC and Poudre Paddler canoeing instructors and will focus on basic strokes and technique in 2 hours sessions\, starting at 10 AM. We will also take advantage of the warm water to practice basic self-rescue skills.  It will be a great place for beginners and kids to get started. For intermediate and advanced paddlers\, it’s a chance to brush up on your skills. \nDepending on the number of students\, we will have one or two classes. If the class is small\, we’ll have tandem and solo at the same time on the 3rd. If the turnout is large (as it was last year)\, we’ll have tandem and solo on different days. Instruction will be: \n\nTandem canoeing – April 3\nSolo canoeing – April 17\n\nThe classes will be free\, although you will need to pay the $9.50 pool entrance fee and\, if you’re not an ACA member\, the $5.00 single-event ACA membership fee.  You must provide your own boat\, paddle\, and PFD. \nRegistration is required so we know how many people are coming. DESCRIPTION:Green River\, Utah: Mineral Bottom to Spanish Bottom through Canyonlands National Park. September 27th – October 3rd. \nGroup of 8 and 4 canoes reserved with  Outfitter TEX’S Riverways \nPut in at Mineral Bottom and paddle down Green River to Spanish Bottom. Visit historical sites\, do some hiking and jet boat back to Moab. \nShuttle Service is $155 person\, plus $35 per personal canoe or $25 per personal kayak. \nA $70 deposit to the trip leader from each club member is required to reserve a spot and cover the required trip reservation deposit fee and permit costs.   Remaining cost for the trip can be paid on Sept 27 to TEX’s Riverways.   Just a heads up\, TEX’s Riverways does not accept credit cards or checks\, only cash or money orders. \nContact Louise Richards for more information or to sign up! \nThis is an ACA-sanctioned event.  Membership in the ACA\, or a single-event ACA membership ($5 per person) is required.

SUMMARY:Green River Below Flaming Gorge Dam
DESCRIPTION:Green River Flaming Gorge Labor Day Weekend  Sept 5-7\, 2015 \nClass II-II+ with one linable Class III rapid \nPaddling through some of the prettiest and most prolific trout waters on the Green River in NW Colorado.  Friday night\, we’ll car camp near the Flaming Gorge Dam then meet early Saturday morning at the base of the dam\, unload\, and run the shuttle to the Swallow Canyon boat ramp near Browns Hole (just above the Gates of Ladore). Saturday night and Sunday night we’ll camp on the river and then take out on Monday mid-day. We will be camping in Two Moon Campground in Glendo State Park on Friday night before the trip as well as Saturday night for those attending the optional potluck. DESCRIPTION:This year\, we were fortunate to have won a permit for this wonderful Wild and Scenic river! The Rio Chama flows through the beautiful red rock country of northern New Mexico. This is a 3-day permitted trip with some challenging Class III rapids. DESCRIPTION:Update:  This event has been rescheduled from July 11th-12th when the water levels were too high. \nJoin RMCC for this Class I run through the beautiful Wyoming landscape\, just a half-day drive from Denver. \nThis is an ACA-sanctioned event requiring either ACA membership or a single-event ACA membership for $5 per person. \nWe will be doing day trips upstream from Sanger one day and upstream from Saratoga one day. They are both easy\, class ! stretches. Saturday morning we will meet in Saratoga in the hot springs parking lot at 8:30. Unload boats as quickly as possible\, and start the shuttle as quickly as possible. We will probably leave cars at 2 mid locations and at Sanger. Sanger is still the preferred place to camp.
