SUMMARY:Lagerman Reservoir Day Paddle
DESCRIPTION:Lagerman Reservoir is a wonderful destination for a paddle.  Besides views of Longs Peak and the Front Range\, we will most likely be treated with a number of bird sightings including osprey and eagles.  A cormorant was seen in the nearly area recently.\n \nDirections:  Lagerman Reservoir is located between 63rd St and & 75th St (West of Longmont) and is south of Nelson Road and North of the Diagonal (hwy 119).  To get there\, take either 75th to Pike Rd\, then west on Pike to the entrance OR 63rd to Prospect\, east on Prospect which will wind around and become Pike then continue to the entrance.  There are signs for Lagerman on both 75th and 63rd.  Lagerman is a Boulder County Open Space property.  There is no entrance fee and does have a restroom. \nFYI:  This is an ACA- sanctioned trip and ACA membership OR $10 event fee required. SUMMARY:RMCC Gross Reservoir June 5 2021
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a paddle and picnic on Gross Reservoir – a hidden gem in the foothills above Boulder. This Denver Water reservoir is nestled among beautiful Ponderosa Pine forests and Granite rock\, affording 10 miles of shoreline and 440 acres of surface area paddling. We’ll enjoy a morning paddle followed by picnic lunch at the South Boulder Creek inlet. This is an ACA-sanctioned trip which requires either an ACA membership or $10 for insurance. Owner’s name\, address\, and phone number must be legibly marked on all canoes and kayaks per Gross Reservoir ranger. Also\, only non-motorized car-top-carried boats are allowed\, and boats can be no more than 18-feet in length. \nBe at the boat ramp ready to paddle at 9am (strong winds come up most afternoon) and the access road fills early with paddle boarders and kayakers. \nDirections From Boulder: \n\nHead west on Baseline Road which becomes Flagstaff Road and then eastern Gross Dam Road.\nFollow signs to Osprey Boat Launch Site.\nDriving time is approximately 45 minutes from Baseline and Broadway.\n\nDirections from Denver:Take Highway 93 north to Highway 72. \n\nTurn left (west) on Highway 72 toward Pinecliffe to County Road 77/Gross Dam Road.\nTurn right on Gross Dam Road and follow signs to Osprey Boat Launch Site\nDrive time is approximately 1.25 hours from Denver to Gross.\n\nPlease RSVP to Bill (contact info below) by the preceding Thursday. \nCoordinators: \nBill Ashworth\, 720-352-6456  washwort at gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a lovely morning paddle around Standley Lake located at 100th Ave and Simms Street in Westminster. Remember to bring your binoculars for spotting the many birds that make this lake their summer home including bald eagles\, white pelicans\, cormorants\, mallard ducks and many more. If you are lucky you might even see a resident beaver. \n  \nArrive around 8:30 a.m. and be ready to launch from Pelican Cove Day Use Area at 9:00. There is a $10 Daily Paddle Pass. All paddle craft must enter the main entrance and will be sprayed with hot water (no chemicals) in accordance with Aquatic Nuisance Species protocols. Students can enroll for only the flatwater day if they desire. If you are not a current American Canoe Association (ACA) member\, there is an additional $10 insurance fee; if you are a current ACA member please provide that number to the class instructors. Maximum number of boats for this class is twelve. \nEssentials of Canoeing Part II: Moving Water  (Prerequisite: Flatwater class or verified experience) \n  \nSunday\, June 20\, 2021: Two sessions: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm OR 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm\nTake your flatwater skills on to moving water in Part II where you will learn skills for paddling in moving water. Skills will include “reading” water\, safety considerations on moving water\, advanced canoe strokes\, and specific canoe maneuvers including ferries\, eddy turns\, peel-outs\, C-Turns and S-turns.\nThis class will be held in on a river near the Denver Metropolitan area. SUMMARY:Lake Dillon
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a paddle and picnic on Lake Dillon – a scenic treasure in Summit County\, CO. This Denver Water reservoir is surrounded by the mountains of the Ten Mile Range\, the Continental Divide\, and the Gore Range. We’ll enjoy a morning paddle from the Giberson Bay Day use area. This is an ACA-sanctioned trip which requires either an ACA membership or $10 for insurance. \nNote that we have changed the meeting place from the marina to the Giberson Bay Day use area\, it is on the the Dillon Dam road that runs between Frisco and Dillion. When you exit (203) the interstate at frisco\, go to the first stop light and turn left\, there is a starbucks at the intersection…travel east about a mile\, watch for a large forest service sign on the right that says Giberson Bay. The access road will lead to down to the lake.  We can canoe the shore line thru some islands and also cut across open water if it is calm. We should be able to see some eagles and ospreys. Currently the lake is a couple feet short of topping off. Trip CoordinatorTom Hronk will be in a burgundy chevy van. \n\nThe Reservoir spans 3\,300 acres and boasts 27 miles of shoreline surrounded by majestic peaks.\nAt 9\,017 ft. in elevation\, the boating season is weather dependent\, but typically runs from early June to early or mid-September.\nDillon Reservoir is also a world class destination for sailing and regattas are regularly held on the reservoir.”\n\nPlease RSVP to Trip Coordinator Tom Hronek at summitcolo@hotmail.com
