SUMMARY:3 days in WY on the Green River (RMCC Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge)
DESCRIPTION:RMCC Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) paddling for 3 days in WY on the Green River below Fontanelle Reservoir followed by an optional day paddle below the Flaming Gorge dam. \nThis will be an ACA-sanctioned outing/event which requires EITHER ACA membership OR a $10/person insurance fee. The trip is a series of 3 class II day trips through the Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge on the Green River and a an optional continuation to new camps and Section A – still the Green River – below the Flaming Gorge dam for those who can handle II+ (III-) on Monday. Kit and Henry are arriving a day early to stake out and publicize some territory at the Weeping Rock or Slate Creek campgrounds or between them. These WY BLM campgrounds are free. Fossil Buttes National Monument is nearby.  \nThe NWR does not allow camping\, so we will leave the tents in 1 place and do 3 day paddles likely of 16\, 18\, and 11 miles. The 2nd evening will be a potluck with Henry and Karen providing Dutch Oven specialties. If Visitor Center hours work for us we will try to see their exhibits. Information on wildlife to be seen is at: https://www.fws.gov/refuge/seedskadee/species . Note that helmets\, floating painters\, flotation\, throw rope and bailing devices are needed and we will want 800-2000cfs for each section that we do. There will be several weirs where we need to take a mild chute in the middle\, and some areas will require rock dodging especially where the river is braided and carrying less water. \nSign up soon\, as we are likely to reserve a few campsites near Dutch John where all group sites are already taken. These will get us close to the Section A run of 7 miles below the Flaming Gorge Dam. This area is pool drop\, full of fishermen\, and includes Mother-in-law Rapid. DESCRIPTION:Put-in: Mineral Bottom\nTake-out: Confluence/Spanish Bottom\nPaddling distance: 52 miles\nDates: 9/9-9/14\, 2022\nRiver difficulty: Class I\nACA Event Status: ACA sanctioned trip. CURRENT ACA membership or $10 event fee required. Helmets not required\nMeet-up time at Tex’s in Moab\, UT: TBD\, but probably about 10:00am (might depend on the wind predictions for that\nday)\nEstimated time of take-out: Tex’s will meet us at 10am on the day of take out with a jet boat to take us back to Moab.\nArrive back at Tex’s at about 2PM\nTrip Coordinator: Lindsay Meeks | 303-718-6940 | Lindsay.L.Meeks@gmail.com\nShuttle costs: $200 per Adult (13 and up) plus $45 per canoe (A $100 non-refundable deposit per person will be required)\nShuttle Reservation: Once approved for the trip\, each participant will need to submit their deposit directly with Tex’s. A\nlink will be provided so that this can be done online.\nPermit Costs (NPS): $36 Permit Reservation fee (divided by group) + $25 per person\nCOVID-19 requirements: All participants must be fully vaccinated and boosted.\nOverview:\nThe trip through Stillwater Canyon takes us through Canyonlands National Park. Amazing rock formations and scenery on\na grand scale along with ruins and rock art sites provide plenty of opportunities for exploration. The river provides access\ninto the Doll House and the Maze.\nSince there is no road access at the end of this run when we reach the confluence with the Colorado River we will arrange for a jet boat shuttle back upstream the Colorado River to Moab\, through Tex’s Riverways. Each participant will\nbe required to pay for their part of the shuttle.\nNote that our travel schedule will depend\, in part\, on wind predictions\, but our BLM permit requires that we “launch\,\ntravel (stay within visual contact) and camp together as a group”.\nSince Moab is a 6-7 hour drive from the Front Range\, most paddlers will arrive in the area the night before put-in with\neveryone on their own for camping or lodging. After meeting at Tex’s Riverways on put-in morning (time TBD)\, we’ll\noff-load boats and river gear and load onto their trailer. Once at Mineral Bottom we will start rigging the boats and we’ll\nhope to launch by 1:00.\nEach day we will try to be on the river by 9:00 or 9:30 unless we decide as a group a different time the night before.\nDepending on the speed and desires of the group we will be taking one or two layover days. SUMMARY:Desolation Gray - Green River Sept 16 -24\, 2022
DESCRIPTION:Desolation Gray Canyon Trip is 84 miles from Sand Wash Ranger Station/Launch Area.  We will float for the maximum of 9 days (8 nights).   \nThose who applied for permits through the lottery process will be considered first for a spot on the trip. If there is additional space\, others will be considered. Please contact Louise if interested. \nCamping the night before Sept 15 at Sand Wash with staffed ranger station\, primitive boat ramp\, vault toilets and 8 primitive campsites and 4 screen cabins that can be rented. Primitive River camping is first come first serve basis and limited to the west side of the river from Sand Wash to Coal Creek Rapid.  After Coal Creek Rapid camping is on either side of the river. \n  \nPermit lottery Fee is $6. Participant’s recreation Use cost is $40 per person per trip (required to print permit two weeks before launch\, prefer sooner) to finalize permit. Shuttle fees and reservation of one Screen Cabin camping fee $20 per night.  The Lottery acceptance date is March 14\, 2022.  A minimum recreation use fee of ($40) required to accept permit and all other participants recreation use fees and screen cabin reservation (Sept 15) is required before permit is printed two weeks prior to launch date Sept 16\, 2022.  \nTrash receptacles and water are not available at put-In.  All trash must be packed out.  We will use a shuttle company to pick up the vehicles at the put-In store\, and deliver to the takeout before the scheduled take-out date.  More information will be provided later.  \nIf interested\, please contact Trip Coordinator/Permit holder: Louise Richards louisemrichards1199@gmail.com

DESCRIPTION:Join RMCC as we paddle the Colorado River Sunday – Monday from Loma\, CO to the Westwater Station boat ramp in Utah through  Ruby and Horsethief Canyons . We’ll be camping at one of the larger sites on the river Sunday night – TBD. Our late September date should offer gorgeous fall color on the canyon bottom. This is an ACA-sanctioned outing/event which requires EITHER ACA membership OR a $10/person insurance fee. We will also split the campsite fee – estimated to be $5 or so depending on group size.
