SUMMARY:Rendezvous at Radium: Friday through Monday\, August 2 - 5\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Rendezvous on the Colorado River is scheduled for the first weekend in August.  We have group camps A and B at the Radium Campground reserved for Friday through Monday morning.  Camping will be free at these sites for Rendezvous participants (RMCC members and guests only)\, although individuals will have to pay their own day-use fee (per vehicle\, not per person).  \nAs of March 2\, all of the individual campsites have been reserved for both Friday and Saturday nights.  Hopefully\, many of these were reserved by our members! \nFor more detail\, see the 2024 Rendezvous Flier.   \nTo register on-line go to 2024 Rendezvous Registration \nTo sign the ACA waiver for the event\, go to ACA Rendezvous Waiver. \nUntil then\, Happy Boating! \nKathryn \nP.S. SUMMARY:Cancelled - North Platte River Glendo to Guernsey Aug 10 2024
DESCRIPTION:Although RMCC is cancelling the North Platte Glendo to Guernsey trip\, Poudre Paddlers has scheduled the same trip on the same weekend and extends an invitation to RMCC members to participate. To sign-up or for more information\, contact co-hosts Roger Faaborg (rogerfaaborg@gmail.com) or Craig Godbout (cgodbout@live.com). By the way\, both Roger and Craig are also RMCC members. This will not be an ACA-sanctioned event. \n———————————————————————————————————————- \nRMCC members and guests are welcome to paddle the North Platte River from Glendo Reservoir almost to Guernsey Reservoir\, a distance of almost 20 miles. This is a fun\, day long paddling trip and I hope you can join us. It is Class I+ with one Class II section of standing waves ; helmets required here.  For more information\, see RMCC Boating Requirements and Recommendations. We will paddle on Saturday\, Aug 10 (after the season silt flows).  Most will be camping in Two Moon Campground in Glendo State Park on Friday night (its about a 3 hour drive from Denver) before the trip as well as Saturday night for those who choose (there will be an optional  potluck that night). In recent years\, Glendo SP has required reservations for the campsites. They are large and can accommodate multiple tents and vehicles (extra vehicles will pay the full camping price). Reservations can be up to four months of the check-in date. \nNote: Anne Fiore is organizing a North Platte paddle from upstream of Glendo down to the boat ramp on the Friday before our Saturday trip. It is also mandatory that you have a Wyoming Game & Fish Invasive Species decal for your boat and your boat also needs to be inspected when entering Wyoming. SUMMARY:Colorado River: Cisco Landing to Lower Onion Creek. August 24\, 25\, 2024
DESCRIPTION:Floating the Colorado River doesn’t get much easier than this!\n\n     Saturday morning we’ll gather at the Dewey Bridge Campground boat ramp 32 miles east of Moab via UT128\, drive up-river from there to the put-in at Cisco Landing & paddle a flatwater\, somewhat remote 16-mile section of the Colorado River thru desert and ranchland back to Dewey Bridge.\n\n     Sunday morning we’ll launch at Dewey Bridge to enjoy 8 miles of  Class I water thru spectacular red rock canyons as we paddle to the take-out at Lower Onion Creek Campground. As an option\, some paddlers may want to continue downriver & paddle the “Moab Daily” section before leaving the river. Beyond Lower Onion Creek the rapids will likely be Class II to II+ with helmets required.\n\n     Plan to car camp Friday & Saturday nights either at Dewey Bridge Campground or in the vicinity. Or\, if you prefer\, there are numerous hotels in Moab\, a 45-minute drive.\n\n     This is an ACA sanctioned outing event which requires either ACA membership OR $10/person insurance fee. In addition\, all boaters must take the annual Utah mussel-aware boater course & have proof of course completion in your launch vehicle.
