SUMMARY:Meander Canyon\, Colorado River. Sept. 10-13\, 2024. Trip full. Wait-list available.
DESCRIPTION:Trip is full\, with wait-list. \nThis will be a weekday trip with a put in at Potash on Tuesday\, September 10th and pick up\, by jet boat\, Friday\, September 13th. \nMeander Canyon\, on the Colorado River\, is the often neglected third leg of the Canyonlands flatwater trilogy. Probably a step down from Stillwater\, but on a par with Labyrinth. For those who have done Stillwater Canyon of the Green River\, Meander Canyon is the canyon the jet boat travels to bring people back up to Moab from Spanish Bottom following a Stillwater Canyon trip. We will see petrified logs\, petroglyphs\, and ruins. \nAn advantage of a Meander Canyon trip is the jet boat can pick you up just about anywhere on the river that the water is deep enough for the jet boat.  So\, mileage can be adjustable. \nRandy Purrett (purrettrandall2@outlook.com) and Karen Amundson (canoekarena@msn.com) are co-coordinating the trip. (Shuttle reservations need to be made by May 31.) \nContact Randy and Karen for more information.

SUMMARY:Missouri Breaks -- Fall
DESCRIPTION:We are in the final planning stage for a fall Upper Missouri Breaks National Monument trip — September 17 – 26 with two days of driving on each end.  The trip length includes\, we hope\, multiple hikes with a couple layover days.  We plan to boat 108 miles from Coal Banks Landing (mile 41.5) to Kipps Recreation Area (mile 149) with options for adding 41 miles upstream (putting in at Fort Benton) or shortening by taking out at Judith Landing (mile 88.5).  Alternatives from our chosen route/timing would be yours to arrange/coordinate.  IN GENERAL — we intend this trip as a low key paddle with lots of stops/stays for hiking\, but if winds/weather are issues\, we may be getting on the river early. \nThis will be an ACA-sanctioned trip — ACA membership or $10 event fee required. \nThe GoogleDoc at   https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tMbiGBbNHwwxkb7HWWxB1oc_1ZPGoahtR7sIS6PdIPg/edit  includes general information and some planning particulars (e.g.\, shuttles\, costs\, potential hikes and camps)\nContact Kathryn Mutz at (gvmutz at gmail.com) AFTER you read the GoogleDoc if you have questions or are interested.  We will limit the trip to about 10 boaters.

SUMMARY:Colorado River: Ruby/Horsethief Canyons Sun 9/29 - Mon 9/30
DESCRIPTION:Join RMCC as we paddle the Colorado River Sunday – Monday from Loma\, CO to the Westwater Station boat ramp in Utah through  Ruby and Horsethief Canyons . We’ll be camping at one of the larger sites on the river Sunday night – TBD. Our late September date should offer gorgeous fall color on the canyon bottom. This is an ACA-sanctioned outing/event which requires EITHER ACA membership OR a $10/person insurance fee. We will also split the campsite fee – estimated to be $5 or so depending on group size. Check out the trip flyer Loma to Westwater Sunday to Monday . This is an easy\, family-friendly Class I trip but check out the Club site for information for RMCC Boating Requirements and Recommendations. \nGroup Size Note: This trip is limited to 25 paddlers and often fills up fast. There was a large show of interest in the January survey so I will likely be starting a waitlist \nScheduling Note: if we are unable to secure a campsite for Sunday night\, the trip will move a day to Mon-Tues. \nContact Bill Ashworth to sign up or with questions at washwort at gmail.com. 720-352-6456
