Reminder – RMCC’s Annual Permit Party is January 17th!

What happens at the Permit Party? Well, aside from getting to party with the folks we had so much fun with last summer, we’ll set next summer’s schedule. If members have trips they want to lead, we’ll discuss possible dates and then put those on the schedule. We’ll determine which rivers we want to run that require a permit, so everyone who wants to join those trips can get their permit applications in. The more members we have applying for permits for a particular river, the better our odds are of getting to canoe that river. If you haven’t applied for a permit before, we’ll show you how it’s done.

So – join us at the Permit Party to plan the 2015 canoeing season! This year, two RMCC members have graciously offered to host us in Breckenridge, so we’ll get together there on Saturday evening at 6pm and go until about 9pm. If you plan to come, please RSVP ([email protected]). If you’ve RSVP’d, but have not heard back, please contact me again, as we don’t want to miss anyone! We’ll get detailed directions to you RSVP’ers. Plan to bring a dish to share. RMCC will provide utensils.

If you’ve been reading your RMCC e-mails, you know that we’ve been asking if you need a place to stay for Saturday night. We may still have a spot or two, so let us know. Our Summit County hosts may also be planning some cross-country skiing or snowshoeing for Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning – please inquire!

If you want to follow the scheduling process, but can’t make the trip to the mountains, please let us know. We’re working on a process for remotely sharing information on the evening of the 17th.

And finally – what happens if we get that big dump and folks can’t make it to Breckenridge? The alternate snowed-out date is January 24th, and it will be held somewhere on the Front Range. If snow happens, we’ll make that call and send you all information for the new time and location.
