RMCC 2015 Permit Rivers

RMCC 2015 Permit trip Lotteries –  deadlines fast approaching

Here are the FIVE potential river trips that emerged from the RMCC Permit Party in Breckenridge last week. All are multi-day canoe camping trips with at least some technical rapids and all require government permits (most will also require a paid shuttle).  If you’d like to go on one or more of these trips, you’ll need apply for a permit(s).

1) contact the Trip Coordinator (TC); he or she will tell you who else is applying for the permits and other important details

2) file the permit application using the contacts and information in Richard Ferguson’s updated River Permit for 2015; note that many applications call for multiple launch dates (first choice, second choice, etc).  There are indicated below. Also, the number of river nights for each trip is listed after the river length (a “?” indicates an estimated number).

3) WAIT for the lottery drawing results (dates vary but most will be completed by March)

4) IF you draw a permit, contact the TC who will in turn pass this along to the other lottery applicants;

5) In coordination with the TC, if you’re successful,  file the necessary paperwork and fees to complete the pre-trip preparations

Finally, a preliminary but extensive list of NON-PERMIT trips will be published soon by our Trip Coordinator Carol with lots of day, weekend, and longer trips. Hopefully, there are trips there for all interests and abilities.
