On our way back from the Noatak River in Alaska, Judy and I made a reservation for the Bowron Lakes Canoe Circuit in British Columbia- it is a provincial park. The full circuit is a 71.7 mile loop thru mountain lakes and rivers. 6.7 miles of that is on the 6 portages you do, the longest being the first at 1 ½ miles. Portage trails are generally well maintained, and boats can be carried on carts. Our Pakcanoe had been wrecked by a grizzly bear and was literally in pieces, so we made arrangements to rent a 17’ Clipper Tripper canoe and portage wheels from the park.
