Spring high water. Be careful out there!

It’s been a Spring of high water trip cancellations. It’s hard to complain about water we need so much, though it’s tough to have to miss river trips. Be sure to keep an eye on water levels and their changes as you plan any paddling trips! Be careful out there!

We still have the Memorial Day Niobrara trip coming up at the end of the month, and the recent Labyrinth Canyon trip was a successful high water trip.

There are a couple of local paddling opportunities coming up. Monday, May 22, there is a joint club paddle/cleanup at Union Reservoir in Longmont. And, don’t forget the evening social paddles at Macintosh Lake Wednesday, May 24 and Wednesday, June 7. These are a great opportunity to socialize with other members while watching the sun set behind Longs Peak and getting some paddling in.

If anyone would like to coordinate some other “local” lake or river paddles, please contact the tripmaster ([email protected]). Or, if the spring highwater cancellations has given you some ideas of trips to coordinate in the summer or fall, let’s get them on the calendar!
