Saturday is the19th Almost Annual Joint Club Paddle — South Platte Evans to Kersey or Kuner

The 2024 Joint Club Paddle is this Saturday, March 30th (rain date is April 6th).

The Rocky Mountain Canoe Club, Poudre Paddlers, High Country River Rafters, Flatwater Frogs, and Rocky Mountain Sea Kayak Club will be back on the South Platte River to celebrate the 2024 padding season.

Currently, Saturday’s weather is looking good with high near 70. However, the flow is currently higher than normal at about 1,100 cfs. This run is not considered easy at flows higher than 800 cfs. We will be monitoring the flows.

Registration is appreciated!   High Country River Rafters has set up a registration page for us or you can contact any of the club representatives listed in the flier. If you register, we can let you know of changes or cancellations, and it helps us plan for the car shuttle.

Waivers:  Please note that this is a “hybrid” event in that we are following the ACA guidelines for ACA members and non-members that want to be covered by the event-specific liability waiver ($10 fee).

If you are not an ACA member and do not want to sign the ACA event waiver and pay the $10 fee please print a waiver from your club’s website, sign it, and bring it to the put-in.  Unaffiliated paddlers or those whose club do not have a club specific waiver, please use the Poudre Paddlers’ waiver (click on ‘membership’ for a link to a printable copy).

If you are an ACA member please send your ACA number and waiver expiration date to Anne Fiore ([email protected]).

If you want to purchase an ACA day-event-membership, please contact Anne Fiore ([email protected])

As always in the past, volunteers will be needed: technical leaders, middle persons and sweeps; leaders for the caravans to Kersey and Kuner, and help moving boats at both portages.

LOTS of details, cautions, and contingencies are in the 19th Joint Club Paddle flier.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and getting on the water!
