20 club paddlers in canoes, IKs, sea kayaks, and Normandy landing craft (well, that’s what my SOAR 14ft felt like solo in the Saturday wind) returned to northern Nebraska’s gentle Niobrara for our annual Memorial Day outing. The notorious late May weather remained dry until a spectacular lightning storm and rain late Sunday night. The great paddling crew proved outstanding chefs as well at the Saturday night potluck in the park pavillion.
