Don’t put your boat away quite yet. This is a beautiful time of year to paddle Chatfield Reservoir. The cottonwood trees are likely to be displaying their golden fall colors creating a stunning backdrop for the large number of birds (pelicans, cormorants, Canadian Geese, king fishers, etc.) that make the reservoir their home. We will be paddling in the no-wake zone that requires power boats to slow down enough to not create a large wake, plus there are considerably fewer boats on the water in the fall offering a much quieter, more peaceful paddling experience. Please be at the designated meeting place by 9:00 a.m. and be ready to paddle by 9:30.
You will need to pay a daily State Park pass of $10 per vehicle unless you have an annual State Parks sticker. This is an ACA sanctioned trip so a $10 liability insurance fee will be collected for all non-ACA members. If you are a ACA member please provide your ACA membership number to the Trip Coordinator before the trip.
Trip Coordinators are Kit and Henry Williams. Email Kit at [email protected] to register.
