March Update: All Clubs Paddle is Cancelled, 4 Pool Sessions Remain

HI RMCC Paddlers!

The South Platte River All-Clubs Paddle is Cancelled

Sadly, for the first time in many years, RMCC will not be co-hosting the All Clubs Paddle this spring.  This event has traditionally kicked off the season, drawing multitudes of paddlers for a day-long float on the South Platte River. Access locations were heavily damaged in last year’s flooding and are currently unavailable. We’ll monitor those conditions this year.

Arvada Pool Sessions Still Going

If you are looking for a way to ease into the paddling season, remember that there are still 4 more sessions at the George Meyer pool in Arvada.  Upcoming dates are: March 9th and 23rd, and April 6th and 27th.

Bring your boat, paddle, life jacket, neoprene clothing, water shoes, goggles and bathing suit. Showers and changing rooms are available. Practice rolling, paddling and gates. Try out your new boat before you put in the river or come and try new skills with the help of fellow club members. Contact Karen McKean with any questions at 303-989-4833 or wwcanoe@comcast.net. $9.25 per person, 10 am to 1 pm. George Meyers Pool, 7900 Carr Dr., Arvada.

Note that this isn’t an ACA-sanctioned event so there is no ACA fee requirement.  These dates are subject to change if there’s a pool swim meet.
