Club History

The Rocky Mountain Canoe Club was established on March 25, 1975 at the Founders Meeting in Boulder Colorado where about a dozen enthusiastic canoeists gave the club its name, its mission, and planned its first trip on the St. Vrain River near Platteville, Colorado. Five decades later, about 150 households of canoeists, kayakers, and rowers boat with the club on flatwater and whitewater throughout the U.S. and on occasional international trips.

This page is an archive of the club’s 50 year history, compiled in most part for our 50th Anniversary celebration in 2025. It is our intent to update it periodically. Enjoy!
