Space Available on the Labor Day Weekend Rio Grande – White Rock Canyon Trip!

We have space available on the Rio Grande White Rock Canyon trip over Labor Day Weekend.  This wonderful 4-day trip begins near Espanola, New Mexico on Friday, September 4th.  We’ll run the 20 miles to Cochiti Reservoir over 4 days, taking time to investigate Alamo Canyon and the 23-room Kiva House Indian ruins; and Capulin Canyon’s Painted Cave, with its Indian and Spanish pictographs.

This run travels through spectacular volcanic geology that provides numerous hikes, including Frijoles Canyon in Bandelier National Monument with the spectacular 80’ high Upper Frijoles Falls.

We’ll average a leisurely 5 miles per day of paddling, running 2 class II and one class III (Ancho Rapid) rapids. We’re working to find an outfitter who will help with a tow across the slow-moving water of Cochiti Reservoir.

We’re limiting this trip to 12 people. Details are provided here.  Contact Karen Amundson ([email protected]) with questions and to sign up!
