If you are interested in paddling Canada’s beautiful lake country in the world renown Quetico Provincial Park on September 6-13, it is important you contact Ken Wenker at wenker@comcast.net (or with a text or a voicemail at 719-310-5232) as soon as possible. Quetico Provincial Park takes reservations 5 months ahead of time (campsites, motels, and outfitters in that area end up filling up on that time schedule) so some of RMCC’s trip reservations must be made early next month. An April planning meeting is also being scheduled for those who have signed up so they can get some of their questions answered.
Currently the primary trip will put-in on September 6 at Beaverhouse Lake and take-out on September 13 at Dawson Campground on French Lake. That is actually a fairly leisurely trip if the weather is good. Some more details are on the Canoe Club website. Check it out.
