Springtime RMCC River Adventures


Join RMCC for a South Platte Joint Club Paddle, a packraft trip among incredible red rock canyons, family friendly runs down the South Platte, and weekday trips down the Colorado river. These are just a few of the exciting adventures RMCC has in store for you this Spring! See RMCC website calendar and event listings for further details and registration information.

  • Saturday, April 2— the Joint Club South Platte Paddle day has been rescheduled to April 2. Join RMCC and other boating clubs for this great family friendly class I run down the South Platte River.
  • April 23 – May 2 – Escalante River Packrafting Trip, an 8 day backpacking and class II float trip down a spectacular desert river with hikes up beautiful red rock canyons.
  • Saturday, April 30 – South Platte: Kersey to Kurner. A great way to warm up your paddling skill on an easily accessible class I stretch of river.
  • Open Pool Practice Sessions offer you a chance to brush up on old skills while practicing new ones in the warmth of the George Myer Pool from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm on April 3, 17, and 24.
  • Saturday, May 7—South Platte River: Brighton to Fort Lupton. A fun class I trip.
  • Monday, May 16—Colorado River: Cottonwood Island to Blair Ranch, a great midweek class 1+ trip.
  • Tuesday, May 17—Colorado River: Grizzly Creek to Two Rivers Park, a midweek class II & III trip.
  • Friday-Sunday, May 20-22—Dolores river: Slick rock to Bedrock. An exciting opportunity to run this beautiful canyon trip. Water being released from McPhee Reservoir makes this class III run possible (the last time this happened was 2011)…very exciting!
  • Saturday-Monday, May28-30—White River: Rangely to Enron Gas Wells is a scenic class I/II trip through high desert plains.
  • Saturday-Monday, May28-30—Memorial Day Niobrara Trip is a great class I run through a scenic heritage waterway with many waterfalls and beautiful hardwood forests.

NOTE:

  • Postponed: March 29 – South Platte River: C-470 to Union Ave, class II. This trip has been postponed and will be rescheduled with warmer weather and better water levels.
  • Waiting List: April 25 –  April 30 – Buffalo National River canoe camping trip in Northern Arkansas is currently full and a waiting list has been developed.
