Quench your spring fever with a trip down a river!


Sneak away from work to paddle one or both week-day trips down the Colorado River, or take advantage of a rare chance to run the Dolores River from Slickrook to Bedrock. How about a family trip Memorial Weekend down the premier scenic heritage waterway of Niobrara past its many waterfalls or spend the long weekend canoeing a beautiful section of the White River. May 16     Colorado River: Cottonwood Island to Bair Ranch

May 17     Colorado River: Grizzly Creek to Two Rivers Park

The Grizzly Creek to Two Rivers Park run is one of the more popular sections on the Colorado River. Generally a class II run but at high water it is a class III. Contact Clem McHale at clemmc33@gmail.com or 720.940.5381.

May 20 – May 22     Dolores River – Slick Rock to Bedrock

The Dolores River trip includes beautiful canyons with nice side hikes. It is 50 miles with 3 class III rapids the last day.  This trip is dependent on the release of water from McPhee Reservoir, something that hasn’t happened since 2011 but is scheduled for this spring. Note: RMCC members are invited to join a non ACA sanctioned private trip down the Green River through Canyonlands National Park from Mineral Bottom to Spanish Bottom June 6-11.
