RMCC’s annual get-together is just around the corner! Fun for the entire family with day trips on the Colorado River both Saturday and Sunday for all skill levels (Class I, Class II, and Class III), plenty of time to spend with old and new friends, plus a cooking competition/potluck supper and Sunday morning pancake breakfast.
Everyone bringing food for the Saturday evening potluck or planning to cook their dish in a Dutch oven will be eligible for one of 6 prizes. Be sure to register with Bill Ashworth at washwort@gmail.com if you plan on attending.
2018 Dutch Oven & Cooking Competition Information
Dutch Oven Competition
• If a fire ban is in effect during Rendezvous weekend, people using Dutch ovens must do so using a propane stove. If there is no fire ban then using an open fire or charcoal within the fire ring at the group campsites is allowed.
• Bill can lend out a couple of Dutch ovens so if you need to borrow one email him at washwort@gmail.com.
• Prizes will be awarded for the following categories: 1) Dutch oven main dish, 2) Dutch oven side dish, and 3) Dutch oven dessert.
• Be ready to serve your dish at 7:00 pm Saturday evening.
Non Dutch Oven Competition
• Three prizes will be awarded in the non-Dutch oven categories: 1) Main dish, 2) Side Dish, and 3) Dessert
• Be ready to serve your dish or dessert by 7:00 pm Saturday evening.
Note: social hour starts at 6:00 so bring your choice of beverage. Shared appetizers are always appreciated. Be sure to also join us for the free pancake breakfast Sunday morning. (We’ll provide the pancakes but please bring a topping for the pancakes or a side dish to share such as eggs, bacon, or fruit.) You won’t be leaving this event hungry!
