Redrock Lake to Kugluktuk 8/1/19 – 8/18/19

Relentless wind could describe this trip in two words. I was expecting it to be windy, with wind out of the North, and I was expecting a lot of rain and a lot of bugs – got all of that. I wanted to do an Arctic trip, just to see it and hopefully some muskox and wolves and a lot of wildlife. I started looking at the Horton R- described as “an old man’s river”, yeah that suits me. E-mailed for flight cost for drop off and pick up – reply was $11,400 which was my discounted quote. Nope, that’s not gonna happen. So, I looked at the Coppermine again, and figured I could do it – definitely cheaper. read more …
