This trip was chosen for RMCC’s Journey from Home series because many paddlers in Colorado have not heard of the spectacular Bowron Lakes circuit in British Columbia, Canada. It is a rectangular trail of lakes and waterways that allows fortunate paddlers (the permit process starts in October) to canoe or kayak 72 miles through incredible Canadian wilderness surrounded by snow topped mountains and then return to where you started without having to backtrack. Although there are portages, canoe carts are allowed on the trails between lakes. We hope you enjoy learning about the Bowron Lakes and consider putting it on your wish list.
