Saturday, January 9 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm by Zoom
Explore new paddling possibilities at RMCC’s annual Planning and Permit Party. Although this year’s party will be on-line, the information gathered during this meeting will be invaluable for mapping out your 2021 paddling adventures.
Bill Ashworth will begin with a slideshow of the many permitted trips (rivers that require a permit are often awarded through a lottery system) that people may want to apply for in 2021.
We will also present popular non-permitted day, weekend, and multi-day trips, and where a Trip Coordinator has been identified, he or she will give you a brief description of their trip and explain why you might want to join them. Debbie HInde, our Grand Poobah of Instruction will also give a overview of the class available where you will learn new canoeing and safety skills and improve on old ones.
Because we will not be able to sign up for trips and classes in person, an on-line survey is being developed that will let us know the trips and classes you are most interested in. You will be able to fill out this form after January 1. It is important to fill out the survey for many reasons including letting Trip Coordinators know you want to join a certain trip or class (some of these trips fill up fast and selection is often on a first-come-first-served basis); sharing contact information with people who are interested in applying for the same river permit; and identifying popular trips where a trip coordinator is needed.
We will be emailing a link to this zoom meeting to all of RMCC’s members. If you have any questions regarding the Planning and Permit Party or 2021 activities, please contact Kit Williams, RMCC Trip Master, at [email protected].
