Colorado River Trips in Utah

Dates have been set for two beautiful sections of the Colorado River near Moab Utah, the first is Moab to Spanish Bottom July 27-31 through Canyonlands National Park. The second section is a two day class I section from Cisco Landing to Onion Creek. Janet Mallory has generously offered to run this trip three times on August 28-29, September 18-19 and October 2-3.

Colorado River: Moab to Spanish bottom

July 27-31

50 miles class I water into the spectacular deep canyons of Canyonlands National park. The date is dependent on the return jet boat shuttle schedule and could change a bit. Reserving a shuttle requires a six person down payment. The shuttle cost is just under $200 and there will be another possibly $50 for permits and equipment rental.

Weather permitting this will be a leisurely trip with time for walking to ruins, petroglyphs and petrified logs. 8:30 ish morning launches could be later if the group wants 6 am hikes. Trip Coordinator:  Janet Mallory janetrpm@gmail.com 720-236-6308

Colorado River: Cisco Landing to Onion creek

Aug 28/29, Sept18/19, and /or Oct 2/3.  2 days class I, with an overnight on the river. Those who want can add more. Cisco landing to Dewey bridge is a somewhat isolated desert area. Second day we will go into the deeper more colorful canyon, a stretch known as “postcard alley”. And then???
