Day 3 – 5/10/25 This was a layover day, and we paddled as far in as we could till the water became a small, too shallow stream. Stopped here for a bit, and I picked up a few pieces of firewood. Tracy found a horse skull – it looked just like him. On the way back, I spotted a set of “miner’s stairs” that had been marked on the map – definitely man made, and probably predating the flooding of the canyon. Didn’t look too steep, so I went and climbed up – you could still see the tool marks in the sandstone.
