Fellow Paddlers,
Perhaps you’ve heard by now, vicious rumors do spread quickly, that I’ll be coordinating our annual Club Rendezvous this summer. Note I didn’t say August. Alas, Nita and I will be chasing a solar eclipse in Europe during the 1st half of August so this year’s Rendezvous needs to be pulled forward a bit. Specifically, Friday July 17 through Sunday July 19. Hopefully this doesn’t create too many conflicts and we’ll have another outstanding well attended Rendezvous.
For those that haven’t attended this event before, our Club Rendezvous is a fun filled weekend near the head waters of the Colorado River with wonderful day paddling trips and many social activities that provide great opportunities to meet and bond with fellow club members. For many, this is a real season highlight. Here are some initial details.
Dates: Friday July 17 through Sunday July 19. Note: we could not get both groups sites for July 24-26.
Camping: the club is planning to reserve two group sites folks are free to use
- Group Site B: will be from Friday to Sunday
- Group Site A: will be from Friday to Monday to accommodate folks that want to travel back on Monday
- There are also 12 individual car camping sites (sites #5-#16) that folks can reserve on their own if interested (sharing with fellow club members is encouraged)
- Reservations open on March 1st at 8am and fill quickly, so don’t delay if you’re interested in a private site
- If you’re planning to do this, send me an email ahead of time. Then in case we have to quickly shift to the backup dates, I’ll let you know ASAP so you can shift your reservation requests as well

- Note: this is a dry camp so there is NO WATER and NO ELECTRIC hookups at camp sites. Make sure to bring adequate water for your needs and have all your devices charged up, although our solar powered camper van can provide a charge up if needed
