With a cooking contest going on at this weekend’s RMCC Rendezvous, a great spread is assured! Everyone bringing food for the Potluck or planning to cook their dish in a Dutch oven will be eligible for one of 5 prizes. 2016 Dutch Oven & Cooking Competition Information
Dutch Oven Competition
- Because of this year’s fire ban, people using Dutch ovens must do so over charcoal, not open fires, within the fire rings of the two Radium Campgroup group sites where this year’s Rendezvous is being held. Please bring your own charcoal. (Use of a propane or gas stove for this competition is also permitted.)
- Bill can lend out a couple of Dutch ovens so if you need to barrow one email him at washwort@gmail.com.
- Prizes will be awarded for the following categories: 1) Dutch oven main dish, 2) Dutch oven side dish, 3) Dutch oven dessert.
- Be ready to serve your dish at 7:00 pm Saturday evening.
Non Dutch Oven Dishes
- Two prizes will be award in the non Dutch oven categories: 1) Main or Side Dish, 2) Dessert
- Be ready to serve your dish or dessert by 7:00 pm Saturday evening.
Note: social hour starts at 6:00 so bring your choice of beverage. Appetizers are always appreciated. Then be sure to join us for the free pancake breakfast Sunday morning. You won’t be leaving this event hungry!
