Rendezvous Updates

Looks like the water level for the Colorado River near Kremmling (currently running at 1,400 cfs) and the weather forecast (sunny and warm) will be excellent for this year’s RMCC Rendezvous on August 3-5. Be sure to register by contacting Bill Ashworth at [email protected] if you plan on attending. Bill will be sending an email out to all registered participants in a few days with the latest information on flow rates, fire restrictions, weather and Rendezvous activities. In the meantime, here are a few things you need to know:

·       Because fire restrictions can change at any time which has a great impact on people planning Dutch Oven meals, we are dropping the Dutch Oven Only portion of the Saturday night cook-off and will have everyone compete in 4 categories: main dish, side dish, dessert, and Best of Show. Of course people can still use Dutch Ovens to cook or heat their dishes if charcoal or firewood is allowed.

·       Although we have reserved both Group A and B campsites, parking can still be a problem, especially for those people towing trailers. If you plan to bring a trailer you might want to consider coming early—most sites are taken by early afternoon—and claiming an individual campsite. To ensure that only RMCC members vehicles are using the group parking spaces, we will be giving everyone parking cards to put on their dashboards. Be sure to request one when you check in.

·       There have been a couple of inquires looking for someone who wants a tandem partner, so if you have a boat and are willing to be paired up with one of these individuals please let Bill Ashworth know as soon as possible.

·       Remember that the Radium campground is a “dry” camp, there is no potable water available so you must bring all of the drinking and washing water you will need with you.

We look forward to paddling with you next weekend!
