Revised: 17th Almost Annual Joint Club Paddle – South Platte River, Evans to Kersey or Kuner

March 26, 2022

If you are considering joining us, PLEASE NOTE:  March 26th weather is looking good, but this is no longer a family-friendly, first-timer’s run — you have to be able to control your boat to avoid multiple gravel bars and strainers and to portage two dangerous dams.  Please see the description in the revised flier — especially the description of dam portages — and contact Kathryn if you want to discuss it.

The Rocky Mountain Canoe Club, Poudre Paddlers, Flatwater Frogs, Rocky Mountain Sea Kayak Club, High Country River Rafters, and Colorado Whitewater will be back on the South Platte River to celebrate the 2022 padding season.  Our traditional put-in at Riverside Park in Evans, Colorado reopened following restoration of severe damage from the September 2013 floods and our main takeout at Kersey has a new bridge.

Join us on March 26 (weather permitting) on a Class I+ paddle from Evans to Kersey Bridge or Kuner.

Registration is not required (but will get you an email if we have to punt to our April 2 “snow date”) and non-members are welcome to join.  Because we have other clubs involved, this is only a partial (hybrid) ACA-sanctioned trip (no ACA membership/$10 event fee required), but all participants must sign liability waivers.

For more detail, see the Revised Joint Club Paddle Flier and then, if desired, contact Kathryn Mutz
