Gunnison River: Escalante to Whitewater

Join us as we paddle the Gunnison River from Escalante to Whitewater (Sat 5/4 thru Sun 5/5). It is a   28 mile trip with two Class II rapids, so helmets required on this ACA trip. We will camp somewhere well below Dominguez canyon to make for a shorter second day, to avoid wind issues.  Primitive camping.

This is generally a beginner friendly river, but has one potentially difficult rapid, which can be portaged or perhaps lined thru a rock garden.  The first CII can potentially be avoided if the water is high enough for a sneak route; the second CII can be avoided using far left channel at Dominguez canyon.

ACA trip, non ACA members must pay $5 to cover insurance.  Helmets Required.
