Intro to River Safety and Rescue – Zoom Presentation

RMCC and friends are invited to the annual Poudre Paddlers Intro to River Safety and Rescue Presentation

(6:50 p.m. MDT social time, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. MDT presentation)

This year we have Panelists relating several first-hand experienced Safety and/or Rescue events:

• Lynne Carpenter – Leadership on the Colorado River
• Mike O’Brien – Foot Entrapment on the Poudre River
• Roger Faaborg – Hypothermia on the North Platte River
• Nick Kot – Failed Throw Rope Attempt on the Poudre River

Last year’s recorded presentation covers numerous safety topics plus self-rescue and assisted-rescue.  Everyone who boats (& passengers) should be familiar with these topics and techniques.  If you are paddling whitewater a great investment is a Swiftwater Rescue Class.  All of our Clubs are hosting this type of class this year.  Look on your Club website for more information.
