Yellowstone National Park is a national treasure, but few people get off the beaten path to experience its magnificent back country. This camping trip starts at Lewis Lake, paddles up the channel (towing the boats for the last mile) into Shoshone Lake where you will make camp and explore the Shoshone Geyser Basin. Several options before and after the trip are available including viewing the solar eclipse on the way to Yellowstone, and paddling the Snake River or lakes in the Teton Nation Park after the trip.
The following is a tentative itinerary that depends on getting backcountry camp permits on April 1: 2017 Lewis Lake to Shoshone Lake
Because of the campsite permit the maximum number of people for this trip is 8. Contact Trip Coordinator Kathryn Mutz at [email protected]; 303-499-1092 to register.
