In the planning stages. ~120 miles. 9 days of paddling, 12-15 miles per day, though this can change depending on conditions. Canoe camping experience required. Updated details will follow as they emerge!
To take advantage of Tex’s 25 % discount offer to club members, we are considering this late season trip. Flexibility and a good attitude required! Late season weather is of course unpredictable, as are river conditions and campsite availability. Paddlers must be prepared for these uncertainties. Active participation is required. Campsites are neither designated nor certain to exist season to season. In this sense, it will be an “exploratory ” trip. We will likely want to carry all of our water, though settling (with alum) and filtering is possible. Some side hikes are possible. A layover day is not planned, but weather can always change that.
Preliminary details: launch at Crystal Springs or Ruby Ranch and take out at the Confluence.
Day 1 would likely be around noon, so that would be a short paddling day. And, et boat pick up is in the morning of Oct. 11, so that would not be a paddling day. That leaves 8 full days of paddling. And, fall days bring darkness earlier, so that needs to be considered.
