North Platte River Glendo to Guernsey Aug 10 2024

RMCC members and guests are welcome to paddle the North Platte River from Glendo Reservoir almost to Guernsey Reservoir, a distance of almost 20 miles. This is a fun, day long paddling trip and I hope you can join us. It is Class I+ with one Class II section of standing waves ; helmets required here.  For more information, see RMCC Boating Requirements and Recommendations. We will paddle on Saturday, Aug 10 (after the season silt flows).  Most will be camping in Two Moon Campground in Glendo State Park on Friday night (its about a 3 hour drive from Denver) before the trip as well as Saturday night for those who choose (there will be an optional  potluck that night). In recent years, Glendo SP has required reservations for the campsites. They are large and can accommodate multiple tents and vehicles (extra vehicles will pay the full camping price). Here’s a link to Glendo camping reservations. Reservations can be up to four months of the check-in date.

Note: Anne Fiore is organizing a North Platte paddle from upstream of Glendo down to the boat ramp on the Friday before our Saturday trip. Look for an announcement for that soon.

It is also mandatory that you have a Wyoming Game & Fish Invasive Species decal for your boat and your boat also needs to be inspected when entering Wyoming. This is an ACA-sanctioned trip requiring either an ACA membership or a $10 fee per person.
